Films watched in June

  1. Disaster Movie: Well, I can honestly say that this month started off with a diabolic film! Me and the bf were deciding what to watch and he said that this is quite a good film and that he had watched it before. I cringed throughout the majority of the film, found most of the 'jokes' completely unfunny and all in all just thought it was utter dog sh*t. It wasn't until the entire movie ended that my boyfriend realised it WASN'T the film he remembered, haha! He thought it was awful too. So overall, just don't even waste your time on this! Rating:
  2. Passengers: I started watching this film a couple of months ago but ended up having to leave before I finished watching it. I was actually really intrigued to find out what was going to happen which was surprising as I wasn't expecting to like it. (Don't shoot me, I'm just not a big fan of Chris Pratt or Jennifer Lawrence) But when I finished it this time around I can actually say that I enjoyed watching it! There were a few things I thought about that I don't think worked fully but overall there really wasn't much to complain about! Rating: ★★★★
  3. Tekken Blood Vengeance: So this is another Tekken movie but this time it is animated and it is a lot easier to see which character is which! This story mainly follows Xiaoyu and Alisa and I thought it was really good! I really enjoyed the story and I loved actually being able to see the characters as they look in the game. Can I just say, Panda is SO cute! One of my favourite scenes is when the Kazama family are fighting because they join up with each other to beat each other up, while each of them try to beat the other 2 up. It's really difficult to explain but it is honestly such a great scene and even if you don't want to watch the whole film, I would recommend watching that scene! Even though I don't really have much to say on this film, if you enjoy the game I think it is definitely worth a watch. Rating: ★★★★
  4. Pirates of the Carribean- Dead Men Tell No Tales/Salazar's Revenge: Honestly, what is the actual name of this film?! I see it switch through both names in England, so I'm super confused! Either way, I was super excited when I found this film was coming out (I think I found out the year before last!) and couldn't wait to go and see it! It turned out to be really good and it was really funny, even though there are jokes in all of the films I think that they really pulled them out in this film! The story was good too, there were lots of things that linked to the older films and I'm really glad about that, as I thought it was going to be completely separate. If you are a lover of the pirates films (and I'm ashamed if you're not!) then check this out, because it does not disappoint! Rating: ★★★★★
  5. Hostel Part I: For literally years people have been telling me to check out the Hostel films. I love the saw films and a lot of people were comparing them to those, but after watching it I didn't really think they were that similar. Sure, there was quite a bit of gore, but at the same time I found that there was a lot more of a story and bits that you could piece together. Although the Saw films are some of my favourites, I found this quite refreshing and I was glad that it wasn't that similar. The only part I couldn't watch was *spoiler* the part where the tendons at the back of his ankles get cut! My mom snapped her tendon when she was younger and ever since then I can't even touch that part on my own foot so I could NOT watch them be cut! Other than that, I thought it was a great film and I'll definitely check out the other parts to it! Rating: ★★★★★
New films watched: 10/101

So those were all of the films I've watched this month! I think I'm making good progress on my 101 films and I'm really enjoying writing these posts! Have you seen any of these films? What have you watched this month and have you got any new favourites? Let me know!

Until next time...

Primark PS... Konjac Sponge | Review

I've recently seen the trend of the Konjac sponge going around, and some of the benefits looked amazing! But I still wasn't prepared to fork out a lot of my hard earned cash on something that might not even work for me. So when I found that Primark had released their own, well I just had to jump at the chance! Carry on reading to see what I thought...

Summer Favourite Candle Fragrances

As with many other things, my tastes for candles changes through the winter months to the summer months. In the winter I prefer more cosy and warm smelling scents (not spiced though, eugh!) but in the spring and summer I prefer to have me some fresh, floral and fruity scents! Here are my favourite candle scents for the summer months!

My Spring/Summer Hair Do!

I've had bright red hair for about a year and a bit now. When I first had it dyed I had it cut quite short, so it wasn't too hard to wear it down and keep it looking good. Since then though I've wanted to grow my hair out a little bit, so it has made it harder to maintain my hair and keep it neat. My hair is thick, and when I say thick.. I mean THICK! My hairdresser is always surprised by how much my hair has grown and how much she has to thin it out when I go. Since it has grown, I just haven't been able to maintain it and keep it down decently. It's frizzy, it doesn't stay straight for even a day, and as I've said, it's thick. So I really wanted to find a way to wear my hair down without having to do much with it and I think I have found a way!

Quick Review: Yankee Candle's Cherry Blossom

I finally have another Yankee Candle quick review for you guys! Now, don't be fooled... I have been using candles the entire time, even though I haven't been posting about them! I received the Cherry Blossom sampler from one of my friends at work and I have to say, I'm super happy she bought it me!

Cherry Blossom is one of Yankee's newer scents. It is a very floral scent, but not like a rose scent that can often seem quite musky. It smells very sweet and is perfect for the spring time! When I first got it, I could not stop smelling it, even though it wasn't even burning! While burning the scent is not quite as strong, which in a way is actually quite a good thing, as it could have been overpowering if it smelt as strong as when it is not lit. Instead, it fills the room slowly with a subtle, sweet and floral scent that honestly just makes you think of spring time and being outside.

I bought the jar version of this candle because I was really worried about running out of it, and I'm so glad that I did. If you like fresh smelling floral scents that aren't too musky, I would definitely recommend this. Have you tried this scent? What is your favourite spring time scent? Let me know!

Speak to you soon!

A Day at Stratford Butterfly Farm!

One of my main goals this year is to get out and see more places, do more things, visit more cities! If you follow me on Instagram (darkeowl *wink wink*), then you may have noticed a couple of pictures from when I visited Stratford with my boyfriend! The main reason for the visit was to go to the butterfly farm, and I took quite a few photos so I thought it would be nice to share them with you!

Mini Nyx Haul

So pay day has come and gone and I needed a few bits and bobs so I thought I would go shopping... Well, we all know what happens when you go shopping! You end up going and spending like, a million pound and buy nothing that you actually need! This indeed happened this time around, and it ended up being spent on Nyx products. Carry on reading to see what I picked up...
