January 2017 Favourites!

The first month of the new year is finished! It always seems as though the start of the year goes a lot quicker than the end. January is often a great time to start using some new products, and maybe some that were received for Christmas, so it's a great time to show you what I have been loving this month!

NOTW 17: China Glaze 'Take a Trek'

WOW WOW WOW! I remember the first time I wore this and I was just amazed. It was the first holographic nail polish I had tried, but the pictures I'd seen before were truly stunning! I made my decision and ended up buying this one; even though I wanted more, the others I wanted were out of stock though, much to my disappointment. I bought Take a Trek as that was my second favourite to Strap On Your Moonboots and I'm SO glad that I did.

This polish is an absolutely beautiful blue colour that creates a little rainbow of sparkle on your nail when a bright (preferably natural) light hits it. I cannot describe how beautiful this colour is so you will just have to see for yourself! Regarding formula and application, both are great! This polish only takes 2 thin coats to become pretty much fully opaque and it is so smooth to apply. It dries very quickly too which is always a bonus. The one thing I have found with this polish so far - and it's early days yet - is that it chips pretty easily even with a topcoat. Overall this polish is absolutely stunning and I will definitely buy the other colours I like when they come back in stock!

Mask Hurray!: Montagne Jeunesse/7th Heaven 'Dead Sea Peel Off'

Did you think these 'Mask Hurray' posts had stopped?... Oh no! They're just getting started! I've been focusing on other posts for a while because seasonal posts are best, well, when its the right time! But these posts can be put up whenever, and there is no better time than whenever! The mask I'm using in this post is the Montagne Jeunesse 'Dead Sea Peel Off'. I love a good peel off so lets see how it did!

NOTW 16: Penguin Nails!

It's Penguin Awareness Day today! Seriously, go and look it up! So what better a day than today to post a cute little penguin design! These were super easy to create and look so adorable! I thought that this date would be a great special event to note on my blog!

I know that penguin designs usually get done around Christmas, but this is a great excuse for them now! These were easy to create and look great on both hands (even when done with the 'wrong' hand!).

I used Barry M's Black for the base and applied this all over the nail. I then went in with Sally Hansen's 'White On' and used the brush to apply this half way up the nail. I got a large dotting tool to create the crest and joined it to the rest of the white.

I then went back in with the black and a smaller dotting tool to create the eyes on each nail. Using Rimmel's 'Cute as a Kitten Heel' and an even smaller dotting tool I created the triangle for the beak. I finished off with my Essence Top Coat and my Essence Quick Dry drops and the design was finished! I think this design looks so so cute and is such a fun design!

Speak to you next time!

National Hobby Month: Secret Projects...

Since it's a new year, I want to start experimenting with some different types of posts to see what I enjoy doing most, and honestly, to see what others enjoy! I was looking for some interesting events that happen in the month of January and I found that this month is actually 'National Hobby Month'. Now, I've NEVER heard of this, but apparently it happens every year because of people starting new years resolutions and trying to find something new for themselves! Because of this, I thought it would be a great time to share some of my hobbies with you and see what you enjoy!

So I finally did it! I finally bought my first Urban Decay product! I absolutely love bright eyeshadows and for Christmas my Aunty gave me some money, so I thought I'd take the plunge and finally buy this palette! I loved the look of this product from the get go; so, lets see what I thought of the shadows!

January Sales Haul!

The end of Christmas means the beginning of the sales! I've never been one for buying something on impulse just because it's cheaper than it should be, however I saw lots of things before Christmas that I wanted to try but thought I would hold off until the sales came! I'm really happy with what I bought so keep on reading to find out!

Essence Express Dry Drops: First Impressions

I love doing my nails, but I don't find much time to do them in the day; which means that my nails tend to get all creased and ruined from not drying quick enough before I go to sleep. Queue Essence's Express Dry Drops...

Goals for 2017

As said in my 'Christmas Tag 2016' post, I'm really not one for making resolutions because I just don't keep to them and it seems pretty pointless for me. However, I have decided to think of a few things that I can change or do that aren't ridiculously difficult and don't really matter if I mess up on, but would be good if I did succeed in by the end of 2017 (that seems SOO far away right now..)! I just wanted to share these with you, in case you are the same as me and don't really stick to your resolutions (I mean come on, who does?!) as they might help inspire you for some easier-to-stick-to goals!
