Mask Hurray!: Montagne Jeunesse: Glacial Clay Spa

Surely not another 'Mask Hurray' post?! Well, this week I've tried out one of Montagne Jeunesse's sheet masks and it's their 'Glacial Clay Spa' mask! I haven't used a sheet mask before and since there has been a big hype around it recently I thought it would be a good idea to try one from a brand I've tried before! So here goes...

When I opened the mask it was a lot different to what I expected. For some reason I thought one side of the mask would be dry and plastic-like and the other side would be the sheet/fabric mask. When I took it out the entire thing was fabric and was all wet with the formula of the mask itself. To me the smell was very overpowering, I'm not sure if it was just because I didn't like the scent, or whether it was actually a strong smell. I think it may have been the smell of the grapes and berries (which are a key ingredient in this mask) that put me off, as it smelt sweet like berries but also had a sterile smell.

When I applied the mask I found it pretty easy to put it on, but I found that it didn't fit my face great,  I think I have a pretty small face and a big head! The eyes and lips didn't seem to line up on me very well, which is to be expected as not everyone face is the same! All I had to do though is tuck it up a little in certain areas and this wasn't much of a problem. The mask itself stuck pretty well and I didn't have any problems with it staying on for the length of time it needed.
Before Applying

Because there isn't as much product as the regular masks it's not as messy to apply, as you can just take out the sheet and stick it on your face at once, which definitely speeds up the process and makes it a lot neater! Like most face masks I've used, I found the mask to be quite cooling on my face and it had a slight tingling, although nowhere near as much as I usually have.
I look like a murderer!

When I removed the mask and washed it off, I found my skin to be quite numb, which was quite strange but I wouldn't say it was nasty. My skin did feel softer and smoother than before but I found it to be a little bit more drying than other masks I've tried. As usual I sorted this out with my moisturiser and was fine afterwards.

After Removing

Overall I wouldn't say that this mask has changed or improved my skin much. I found that after a while my pores actually stood out a little more than before and it didn't cleanse as well as other Montagne Jeunesse masks I've used. I like the idea of the sheet masks, as they seem a lot easier to use but I don't think I'll be repurchasing this one any time soon, I'm fine with sticking to my messy mud masks as I know that they work!

If you've tried this mask let me know what you thought of it. Maybe it just didn't agree with my skin type!

Until next time...
