Mask Hurray!: Montage Jeunesse/7th Heaven Charcoal Masque

I've been hearing a lot about the wonders of charcoal recently and I saw that Montagne Jeunesse do a charcoal face mask. Well, my face is in need of a miracle so there was nothing to lose with this! Keep on reading to find out whether it helped or not...

As per, my skin was pretty bad before I applied this, I had quite a few breakouts and my skin just looked really dull.

The mask contains, charcoal powder, walnut shell and black lava, so it's quite an exfoliating mask. I found that when it came out of the packet it was quite thick and I thought it would be quite difficult to apply, but when it was on my face it was thinner and spread across my face quite easily. It was quite gritty when applying it so I knew that I would need to be gentle when removing it, I think this is because of the walnut shell. The weird thing about this mask is that it actually smells like olives! It was the strangest thing ever and I couldn't think of what ingredient would make it smell like this! It's not a nasty scent but it definitely has a hint of olives...

Just Applied
After 30 minutes

I think there was just the right amount of mask in the product, because it was so thick, but it applied evenly and wasn't a problem. As with most masks it tingles slightly when first applied but it's nowhere near as uncomfortable as other masks I've tried and only tingles while the mask is setting. I left this on for a good half an hour before removing it. The mask set hard like a regular mud mask.
I used a face cloth to remove this because I knew it was going to be messy! I did feel slight exfoliating qualities from the mask and I tried to remove it gently with circular motions so that I wouldn't damage my skin. once my face was dry I could instantly tell the difference! My face felt so so smooth and my pores just felt and looked a lot cleaner. they were not as noticeable and I noticed that a lot of the blemishes had reduced or been withdrawn. I was so happy with this mask and I can definitely tell why people are loving charcoal right now! I'll be repurchasing this mask and might try some other brands to see how theirs performs!

I also realised that I've never mentioned where I buy my Montagne Jeunesse masks from so I thought I'd mention it now. There are a few places that I know sell them, including; Asda, Morrisons, Bodycare, Superdrug, Boots, Wilkinsons, and Home Bargains. I'm sure that there are a lot of other places that sell them and if I find any more I'll let you know, but so far, this is where I have seen them! I mainly purchase mine from Home Bargains as they are 3 for £2, but they don't have as good a range as some other places!

Speak to you soon!
