July 2016 Favourites!

So yet another month is over, and so is summer, almost... Hopefully we get a better few months as this summer hasn't been much to enjoy! But still, the end of July means another favourites post and I'm excited to share with you what I've been loving this month! I know it's a bit late but I wanted to post it at the beginning of the month! So sorry for the delay, enjoy!

Beauty UK Palette No 6: Soho
As you may know, I love my bright eyeshadows! I think it's great fun creating bold colourful makeup looks and I feel confident wearing them everyday. One of the palettes I've owned for a while now is the Beauty UK palette called 'Soho', which contains 10 bright and fun colours. Although I've had it for a few years I've never really used it that much, but in the past few months I've been loving creating certain makeup looks with it and I've found myself reaching for it more and more often. The shadows are so pigmented and last really well on the eyes, they're easy to blend and it's an affordable product. I really don't have anything bad to say about this palette and I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for something a bit more fun but don't want to spend too much.

Primark PS Velvet Matte Crayon in Nude
If you've read last weeks post on my BRIGHT BLUE Primark Lip Crayon (link here if you haven't...) then you'll know that I've been pleasantly surprised by their quality. As soon as I found out how good they were I wanted to try out some other products of theirs so I tried out one of their Matte Lip Crayons and I've been using it all month when I just want something a little bit more than my natural lips. It's creamy and lasts a long time, it doesn't smudge easily and the colour is a beautiful colour that can be worn everyday. It does stay pretty matte, but as described, does feel smooth and velvety on the lips and doesn't dry your lips out. It does accentuate the lines in your lips a little bit but that isn't too noticeable. I think these products are brilliant quality and I might try some other products in the range, such as eyeshadows, to see if they're the same quality.

Primark Eye Contour Brush
I don't have many brushes and I tend to have to attempt to dust off all the product so I can use it again in the same look. I didn't want to spend too much on some more eye brushes and this one from Primark (yet again...) caught my eye. I was actually really impressed with this brush, it blends colours well and applies it accurately. Although it is a little big just for the crease, it does diffuse the products well and it good to use for both quick applications for basic looks, as well as more defined looks with more definition in the crease. It's worth the money if you're short on brushes.

Garnier Micellar Water
Here's another product that I've been using for a while but haven't really appreciated much up until these past few months. I think I got Garnier's Micellar Water close to when it first came out. It was on offer in Superdrug and I needed a new cleanser that worked. I'm so so impressed with this product. I've tried another micellar water previously, from B. and I have to be honest I really wasn't a big fan of that. It had a horrid chemical smell, if you put it over your lips the taste was disgusting and it left a sticky residue over your face. But Garnier's is COMPLETELY different. It removes my makeup so well and I can really feel it working on my skin. It doesn't smell like anything at all and even if I use it over my lips I never get a bitter taste in my mouth, although I still wouldn't recommend drinking it! It makes my face feel so soft and is such a saviour on those lazy nights where it's too much effort to wash my face properly! I think it has helped improve my skin too, when I use this, my blemishes seem more soothed and my skin doesn't look as patchy; maybe its because I'm actually bothering to remove my makeup? Either way, once this is finished I will certainly buy more, I might even try their combination/oily formulation one, to see if that helps!

Black Stone Cherry (band)
So here is my last favourite of the month and it is another band favourite! I've been listening to Black Stone Cherry for a few years now, but they seemed to get a bit lost in the crowd to me since last year's Download, because I was focusing more on this years lineup. I'm very much into southern rock and I have to say that these are one are my favourite bands, they're right up my street! They're rocky, have some blues to their music but have that southern/country feel that I can't help but love! Their new album is amazing, I first heard it in record store on Record Store Day earlier this year and I just had to buy it afterwards! I loved the songs on it and it was so obviously Black Stone Cherry. There was just something special about the songs the album has. All of their albums are great and their first one is just amazing! They've been a favourite of mine for quite a while and I don't think that will change any time soon if they stay true to what they've done previously! Some of my favourite songs include (but are not limited to, he he): Blame It On the Boom Boom, Cheaper To Drink Alone, Dance Girl, Hell and High Water, Killing Floor, Rain Wizard, Rollin' On, Soulcreek, The Rambler and You.

Soo there we have another month of favourites! Since I've only just started a new, temporary job, I'm trying to cut down on how much I buy, so I'm rediscovering some old things that I'd forgotten about and I have to say I'm really enjoying it! Hopefully my luck will change and I'll find a more permanent job soon, but if not I'll just keep on trying! In the meantime though, thanks for reading and I will speak to you in my next post!

Have fun!
