NOTW 5: Lacey Bahama Mama

One of my best friends bought me Essie's Bahama Mama for Christmas a few years ago which is a beautiful berry, wine-like colour. I think this is a colour that works all throughout the year and one idea I was really excited to try was a base of Bahama Mama and a white design on top. I had a look through the stamps I have and thought that this flower design would be a great choice as it looks pretty, interesting and elegant! I also thought it would work quite well with the white and I wasn't disappointed!
The polish itself (Bahama Mama) applies so evenly and has great pigment. It only took 2 thin coats to become opaque but more coats would also change the colour slightly, so it's a really versatile polish! It dried pretty quickly too which is a benefit. The stamps I used (Cheeky Stamps) applied evenly too but I do think I need to invest in a proper white stamping polish or use an alternative white as the Barry M one I used just didn't turn out as white as I'd hoped. The overall design was still visible and looked good though so I'm not too disappointed! I also used my Essence topcoat again, I'm still in search of another one. I loved this design and think it would be a great design for many different occasions and the colour will work all throughout the year!

SUICIDE SQUAD | JOKER Inspired Makeup Look!

Hello! So Suicide Squad is finally here! I cannot wait to go and see it! I know it's a little bit late since it came to cinemas but I had some designs to think about and had to shop for a few new products! As usual, I wanted to incorporate pieces of the look but still make it appropriate to wear out on an almost daily basis. While this isn’t exactly wearable for every day, it is possible to wear when going out for a night or when dressing up, as it’s quite bold. So let’s have a look!

Mask Hurray! Montagne Jeunesse/7th Heaven 'Dead Sea Mud Pac' Mask

OK I'm going to be honest, I'm not the best with my skincare, I'm kind of lazy, even though I shouldn't be because my skin is far from perfect... It needs as much help as it can get! One thing I do enjoy every now and then though, is a face mask. The only ones I've tried are the Montagne Jeunesse ones, but I've tried quite a few of those and I really enjoy them! I wanted to try and find which ones I liked most and which ones worked best for my skin type to help it improve. So I'm going to try a few different ones and let you know what I think!

NOTW 4: Simple Zebra Print

I was feeling a little lazy this week... I didn't want to do much for my nails but I wanted something a bit different than a single block colour. So I put my long lost stamping plates back into good use and created a simple zebra print that I thought looked really good!
I used my Barry M in Matt White for the final time... it was definitely past it's best and I think after using it in my 'Cards Suit You' post (link here if you'd like to see...) the air had caused it to become even worse. Time to search for a new white polish! Once I had applied the whit polish I used my Bundle Monster stamping plates with my Konad stamping polish to apply the design. I'm actually surprised that my stamping polish worked as well as it did, it's not as old as some of my other polishes but it had separated on my shelf, which I was panicking over a little bit! But all was good and it turned out really well in my opinion. I then used my Essence 'Quick Dry' top coat, which in all honesty... I really dislike. It does NOT dry quickly and even if I apply at around 3PM, it is still slightly squidgy by the time I go to bed, so I end up with lines in my nail polish. A typical thing to happen with many nail polishes is that it smears the design, which this top coat also does. The thumb smeared a little bit but once I realised, I fixed it and made sure the nail brush didn't actually touch my nail.
I was really happy with this design, happier than I was expecting really. It sounds silly but I actually loved looking at my nails and I thought that even though the design wasn't pristine, it still looked as though I had gotten them professionally done!

Just a quick note, I wanted to apologise with being so late with my blog posts. I've started a new temporary job and I'm having to get used to not having as much time as I did before! I am still trying to keep my blog up to date so please keep with me and I'll eventually get the balance right! Thanks for reading...

July 2016 Favourites!

So yet another month is over, and so is summer, almost... Hopefully we get a better few months as this summer hasn't been much to enjoy! But still, the end of July means another favourites post and I'm excited to share with you what I've been loving this month! I know it's a bit late but I wanted to post it at the beginning of the month! So sorry for the delay, enjoy!
