NOTW 3: Cards Suit You!

Here’s another instalment of Nails of the Week! This week I decided to try out a design I came up with myself! It's the playing card suits all in their right colours. There is also an 'A' on my thumb because there are only 4 suits and I have... 5 fingers! So I used Barry M's 'Matt White' as a base on all of my nails. I think this needs throwing away, as it was starting to get a little bit gloopy... Then for the black suits- and the 'A'- I used Barry M's 'Black' (what an inventive name!..). I used my nail art brushes and a large dotting tool to apply the designs which was surprisingly easy with the right brush. For the red suits I used a Miss Sporty polish but I can't seem to find the name. Sorry! It was just a basic bright red anyway so any of those will work. I'm so happy with the end result and they lasted for a really long time on the nails with a top coat (I just used a cheap clear top coat). I got a lot of compliments on them and I think they're great for just a fun look! I think I will almost definitely do these in the future!

Primark PS High Colour Lipstick Crayon

*Hey guys! Just before I start want to apologise for the lateness of this post! I started work yesterday and it was kind of manic and excited, so I forgot... Oops! Well, it's here now so I hope you enjoy it.*
I absolutely ADORE brightly coloured lipsticks! I know bright lipsticks are a no-go for a lot of people because they are out of their comfort zone, but for me, they're not an issue and the crazier the colour the better! I found this crayon from Primark the other day and I have to say, I LOVE IT. So what better to do than share it with everyone!

NOTW 2: Sunshine and Blue Skies

So I was sat listening to Black Stone Cherry in the blistering heat and I thought it was time for another NOTW post, woo! Because I'm feeling summery I thought it would be a good idea to incorporate some summery colours. it's not difficult to tell that this mani has been influenced by the clear skies and sunshine. The sky blue is Barry M's 'Turquoise' (295). I love this colour because it's so bright and it reminds me of how the sky (should) look in Summer. But this is England so we wont hold our breath with this weather for too long! The colour that I put on my ring fingers is Revlon's 'Sunshine Sparkle' (042) and this always reminds me of flowers and the sun! It's such a beautiful colour and I think this yellow goes with a lot of different outfits and you don't need model hands (which I certainly don't have) to pull this colour off, as it isn't a harsh yellow. To be honest, I'm really pleased with how my nails have come out and I hope this lasts for at least a few days with no chipping!

SPIDERMAN Inspired Makeup Look!

Since I made my Deadpool makeup look (link here if you want to check it out). I couldn't help but notice that the colours in my Makeup Revolution Mermaids Forever Palette also allowed me to create a Spiderman makeup look. So I thought I'd give it a try and I was really pleased with the result! All eyeshadows needed are in the Mermaids Forever palette too! It's not in your face Spiderman related either so could be worn on a normal basis. So if you want to see how it was done, keep on reading!

Quick Review: Yankee Candle's 'Cappuccino Truffle' Tart

So here is another review on a Yankee Candle wax melt! I tend to change up my melts before they have actually finished; I just light the tealight underneath and wait for the bottom layer to melt so i can pull the wax away. Of course this does leave a bit of the melt still in place so I (carefully) try to wipe away as much as possible before I put the new melt in. One of the ones I recently tried was Cappuccino Truffle. I am a fan of coffee, as long as it's sweet and milky, so I thought this would be a great scent for me as the strength of the coffee would be calmed by the sweetness of the truffle.
This is definitely an acquired taste and smells great, but only for those that like coffee. The strength of the coffee does still come through and the truffle aspect sweetens it, but only slightly. It is quite an earthy smell but I think it has a sort of flavoursome smell to it. It's not overpoweringly bitter but the coffee smell does initially hit you in the face. It's also quite a warming scent so I think it would be a good scent for a kitchen or even a living room if you intend to have people over for the afternoon. It does give the feel of a coffee shop but without the cost and hassle of other people! A definite favourite for coffee lovers!

I forgot to take a picture of mine..

Everyday Essentials: Base Makeup Essentials!

I'm one for makeup, I don't like going out without putting a bit of something on my face, although I do when it's a lazy weekend! I've found some great base products that I really love using on a daily basis, so I thought this would be a good reason to share them with you!

NOTW 1: China Glaze Running in Circles

So I'm a sucker for nail polish and I wanted to pamper myself. I've had this polish a while now and I love it as much now as I did when I bought it! This is my first Nails of the Week post and the polish I'm wearing is China Glaze's Running in Circles from their Cirque de Soleil: Worlds Away collection. It's a lovely forest green base with lots of green and slightly gold glitters in. This polish applies so smoothly and is quite opaque. It took 2 coats to become fully opaque and in the light you can still see where the nail bed finishes; however this isn't a problem as the glitter in it masks it. The wear-time is amazing, I wore this with just a top coat for 4 DAYS before there were any chips! Even though I was doing a lot with my hands like washing up and opening packets etc. the nail polish stood strong and lasted really well. Overall I think this is an absolutely beautiful polish and I would definitely recommend it. I think this polish would be best for Christmas time however I would still wear it mid-summer! Nice work China Glaze!

June 2016 Favourites!

So it's the end of June! This is my first favourites post but I can't believe how quickly the first half of this year as gone! It's crazy how busy you can get and forget how quickly the days go by. I thought this would be a good time to start a favourites topic! The majority of products are going to be beauty related but I will also include my non-beauty favourites, to give you a little more insight to my life and what I enjoy! So lets get into it...
